dude i didnt know you meant letter of rec. i thought you were talking about the 5 clubs i lead or i am a secratery in. btw FYI i talked to the adcom he said that if i choose not to go there then just dont send in the deposit and after the deadline they will release everyone who didn’t give the deposit. i also had very low confidence that i would make to any of my top choices to under average GPA i didnt if my Ecs, statements, and test scores would make it up.

Oh didn’t realize you made it in - CONGRATZ! DON’T LET THIS OPPORTUNITY GO. CORNELL IS AMAAAAZING. You will make it in USB but who cares? Don’t let it go!!!

really though, I don’t think it’s very moral to apply somewhere ED (which you KNEW was binding) and then reject it cause you don’t feel like going. i’ve definitely heard rumors about a blacklist of students who do that, especially among the ivies…

like i said im not going to let it go for sure but i am considering it. i need to take to many people and get their opinions. i am emailing all my previous teachers, counselors and principal to get opinions. i also like to have advice from people on this site. Cornell or gamble and hope for uc berkeley premed?

Wow, all of that is pretty amazing. I think at worst you’ll get deferred from Cornell, and they take a lot of people they defer. I really think you have a great chance!
Good Luck!

i see no reason at all why you wouldn’t be accepted to UC Berkeley…or cornell for that matter. your stats are nearly excellent and you are clearly a very involved, active student who has overcome adversity and succeeded. and yes, the fact that neither of your parents has a degree should only help your chances. if you don’t get in, there is no hope for anyone else! good luck with everything!
pleaseplease chance me back!

Erm. I thought CC was supposed to be filled with really smart people. All you guys do know that this applicant already got into Cornell LAST YEAR. I second singh. Great job guys, keep up the good work.

seem like a good all-rounded person! i would say your SAT 2 may be a bit low, but it depends what you’re studying at cornell. everything is good, your ECs seem spread and unfocused, but otherwise good. I would say UCB in and Cornell reach. go for it! what other schools are you applying?
