Wow, I think you have amazing stats and have challenged yourself to the fullest extent. I think its remarkable that you have achieved so much academically considering the other factors in your life which you mention in your essay. You seem like an amanzing all around person, plus your geographical location should help you. If they don’t accept people like you then who would they accept? I truely hope you get into Cornell.

you’ve got a pretty sick (good) chance at berkeley b/c you’re in state.

as for cornell, it’ll be a reach for sure. make sure you let them know in your essays that you’re super interested in them and i think you’ll have a decent chance.

I hope you spelled secretary right on your app.
And i think you got a good chance of getting a good letter this Saturday, and if not UCB is a good match.

thanks for all your input. so im guessing now is a good time to let go of all the anxiety that i have about going to UC Berkeley? also if i do get accepted to cornell should i or not send in my deposit and gamble that i am going to get accepted to berkeley.

I am amazed at the people here who play games with ED. Did you not sign an agreement to attend if accepted? Did you also agree to withdraw other apps if accepted?

fuzzyfirebunny: i felt i had to lead them all. nobody else wanted to or had the passions to.

btw I GOT ACCEPTED TO CORNELL I GOT THE LETTER TODAY!!!

but from what you guys are telling me i have a great chance at berkeley so im probably going to make a gamble decline cornell and hope for berkeley or just go to cornell i really don’t know should i? im going to be premed if anyone could give me some advice. im really leaning toward berkeley because its instate and i love the weather.

are you saying other students didnt have the passions to get 5 recs? fyi: people choose not to get 5 recs because 1) it’s annoying to adcoms to have to read 5 letters and 2) if you’re really unsure of yourself to the point where you need FIVE people to support you, well, i’m sorry for you.

and seriously? declining Cornell, which is an ED program? 1) you can’t and 2) you shouldn’t have applied there ED if you dont want to go.
