So I signed up for the October SAT with my school as my first choice. I submitted it, and it assigned me my second choice - which is way too far away!
What can I do? Can I just show up at my school on test day to take it there?

Jeez, why didn't you choose a second choice that is closer to home?

well, that's life for you. no, you can't just show up at your school, so suck it up and drive.

make sure to be careful next time!

you have to have a ticket so i dont think they'll let you in at ur school

Unfortunately I don't think you can do anything about it. I know of one or two people who had to drive a couple of hours to their testing location.

^^^damn that's rough

My second choice was the closest... and it is still far away!
I emailed me GC and he said that they ordered some extra test booklets so I can just show up a bit early on test day at my school and I can take it there.
Does this make sense? So I don't notify the CB at all?

^ sounds a bit fishy... i wouldn't do it. might get your score canceled.

You can show up at your school. It's called testing as a "stand-by".

you can show up but you might not be let in
if your GC is SURE they have extras, go for it
but it's still a risk

wait a minute...cant u change the test center for $22?

Yeah, but they assigned him to his second choice, meaning his first choice was filled up.

My GC is the one that orders the tests, and he said they ordered extras. He'll put one away for me. Crisis averted! Thanks :)
