no need of an MBA after Wharton ??

Okay, so weve all heard the statistics and claims that you dont really need an MBA if you go to Wharton.

But I want to know from those of you that have graduated from Wharton and those that know people who have graduated from Wharton.

Did you/they end up getting an MBA?

If yes, how many years after graduating from Wharton?

Did your company pay for some or all of your MBA tuition?

Was it mainly just a technicality to get the higher position?

the alumni career surveys may help somewhat here:

[Career Services, University of Pennsylvania](http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/careerservices/wharton/surveys.html)

but mba degrees can be helpful in changing industries
some firms require mbas
some firms will pay for mbas (mine will!)

and what do you mean by technicality to get the higher position? if your company pays for an mba i’m pretty sure you come back in the higher position automatically
