No OSU Honors Notification

Hello!

I applied for OSU and the Honors program on November 29th, 2012. I got accepted on December 15th, 2012 but have not yet heard back from the honors program.

Now, I’m given to understand that the honors program notifications are on a rolling basis. So why has it taken me so long to receive my notification? Has anyone else not gotten an honors notification yet?

Thanks!

I’m not sure why it takes so long, but I haven’t gotten a reply either. Applied 9/26 and was accepted 11/15.

Just called today. Apparently they are just starting to send out honors invitations.

My daughter still hasn’t heard anything, and she has a 30-31-equivalent ACT and above 4.0 GPA. According to the Honors website a 30 ACT is in the middle 50% for the Honors program. She applied in October and was accepted, I think, in December. Whether she gets into Honors has some bearing on whether she will go to OSU so we’re definitely getting a little nervous about this. We called Admissions a few weeks ago and they said notifications should be sent around mid-March. They have received a lot more applications this year due to the Common App. I was hoping there was some way to tell if you had been accepted into Honors via the buckeye link site, but I couldn’t see any indication there.

are you notified if you get rejected to the honors programm

The same thing is happening with me - I applied way back in November, got accepted a few weeks later, but have yet to hear anything on Honors.

The weird part is, I have friends with credentials no greater than mine that applied after I did, but have already received their honors notifications MONTHS ago. Perhaps those who are waitlisted are moved to the back of the line…I’m going to give them a call tomorrow.

Yeah, I applied and was accepted back in December, and received my honors acceptance in early January. It seems like they’re pretty inconsistent with the order they’re informing people. However, I know that they are still sending out letters now, so it’s not a terrible thing if you haven’t heard back yet.

I applied in late January and was notified of honors acceptance yesterday. I was only accepted on the 8th!

It seems like notification to honors is not consistent with the application date. I hope all of you who haven’t heard yet will get good news soon.

Should I have heard back by now? I was accepted in December yet still no word! I’m getting worried because the only way I’m going to Ohio State is if I get into Honors!

has anyone else still not heard back?

My daughter needed to know about honors to schedule her orientation. They emailed her that it will still be two to three weeks before more notifications go out.

I emailed my admissions counselor and he said that everyone that applies for honors will hear either a yes or a no. He also said that the bulk of the decisions comes out in early April. I don’t know how early is early April though. I am hoping to hear before I visit on April 12. I want to make a decision soon and it is riding on wether or not I get into honors.

The “Honors Admitted Visit Day” is on April 5th, this Friday. It seems they would have acknowledged everyone before then.

I got a letter today stating that even though I am a talented student unfortunately I was not offered honors or scholars. I was kind of surprised, I have a 3.97 uw gpa and 30 act.
Great Ecs. It made my final decision to attend Case Western a little easier.

I also just got a letter today, was not invited ino honors :frowning: I was also kinda surprised because I got honors at Northeastern, Syracuse, and UMASS Amherst. I still think I’m going to OSU because of the price. Hopefully I’ll get invited into Honors next year.

^I think you have to apply for Sophomore year?

My D also not accepted into Honors. They said you can apply in the second semester of your Freshman year.
