I already took: regular Biology, H. Chem, and AP Bio.

Would not having physics harm me for universities, such as Harvard or Stanford? Or the UCs?

what are you planning on majoring in?

And to add on to the major question- are you going to take any other science this year (ie sociology, psych, earth science, whatever)?

It's unlikely. Unless you're planning on majoring in a science or engineering.

I'm not necessarily planning to major in science. I might still consider it(maybe, chem).

I'm still undecided. I might major in education, law, or business.

I might take Physics through EPGY.

If your school offers physics and you don't take it then, yes, it will probably hurt you at Stanford and Harvard.

My school only offers regualr Physics and AP Physics. I'm trying to find an Honors Physics class online.

what's wrong with AP physics? if you're applying to elite schools, you should take it.

There's nothing wrong with AP Physics.

Everybody gets confused in the class. Hardly anybody passes the AP Phys B test.

I want to learn something in the class. I took AP Bio junior year for a 3rd year of science because it was more familiar to me and I got a 3 in the test.

then take AP Physics from a distance education course (EPGY, CTY, etc.)

I think I might do that.

I just need to compare prices.

If my school's teacher taught it better, then I would take the course.

Also, AP physics is during band, which is the only activity that I have done for 4 years by the time it's time to turn in college apps.

I like taking band because I've been playing the alto sax for over 5 years.

I don't think it should hurt you. My friend didn't take physics and she got into Princeton and Dartmouth. It depends on your situation though, every case is different. If you're that worried maybe you could ask your gc to write about it in her letter of rec about the conflict with ap physics or just take regular physics but I understand why you wouldn't want to.

If I took regular physics, it would hurt my rank and it would be the easy way out.

As I said, I'm trying to find an AP phys or H. Phys. class online.
