Hi, this is a question for the U of O admissions rep: My son noticed that there is nowhere to self-report his ACT reading section score on your online application.

In the drop-down menu within the application, an applicant can selectively report best SAT writing, critical reading, and math scores, and best ACT composite, writing subscore, English and math. ACT reading is not there, nor is science. Of course, we are asking this question because he did best on the ACT reading section and would love to highlight it!

Just wondering what the admissions office thinking is in not asking for the ACT reading score.

Hi Jane, thank you for your patience in waiting for a response. I’m still not entirely sure why we don’t ask you to self-report all the ACT scores, but the good news is that the self-reported scores don’t really matter. We need to see the official test scores, either from the testing service or included on the official high school transcript, and your son’s reading test score will be on that official report from the ACT. So, we’ll definitely see it and it will be part of his official application.

Thanks for your reply, and your candid honesty about not knowing why there isn’t a place to self report the ACT reading subscore! I’m grateful for your persistence in finding the answer to my question.
