No SSAT in Sweden

I’m applying to boarding schools in the US this fall, but I can’t find any SSAT test centers in Sweden or in Europe. The only available one was in Switzerland but that is very far away and I would only be able to take it once. Are there any other tests I can do instead? What should I do?

What a great question to ask. Many other students are probably asking the same thing. I am a prospective student from the USA, so my advice won’t be as good as others but I would look at other testing options. Do the schools you want to go to all require an SSAT? or do they take ISEE, or TOEFL? Don’t count out these options because most if not all schools will take all these tests. Many schools are going test-optional by the day. If they do require testing, review other tests besides the SSAT, and if they don’t require it, it’s as simple as not sending in a test. Possibly reaching out to AOs about your situation can be helpful too. They will have good advice. Best of luck.

Can you take ISEE or SAT? ISEE is relatively similar and used by many private high schools. In my sons experience, the math is harder and the language is easier.

SAT would likely work as an acceptable substitute. It has the advantage of being more advanced in math and reading comprehension and does not include vocabulary or analogies.

The SSAT vocabulary book has quite a few really obscure words. It isnt licensed though.
