No/ weak sat 2s hurting my chance of admission?

I took acts and sat iis, but my sat ii scores are weak (chem 680)

Does anyone know if NU penalizes weak sat iis? I'm debating if I should send them in anyways or if I should just send in my act scores.

Thanks for the help!

SAT iis are optional at NU - so IMO don’t send if N/G. AdCom told my son that SAT iis are to show strength in an area that doesn’t show up in grades or APs. So, if your grades in Chem are good, and you scored a 4 or 5 in AP Chem, then there should be no need to send SAT iis. Good Luck.

SAT II’s are good to summit if you did really well on them. If you don’t I don’t think they necessary hurt your application if they are really bad (after all for some areas the SAT IIs may not match the course material from the class they took on it in HS) unless it’s REALLY low (maybe bellow 600?). Sent your ACT and maybe AP scores if you got them. I don’t think your SAT II will hurt you if you send it, it just may not help you. If you take a lot of SAT IIs and do well it’s just another chance to show off your strengths to the admissions team, the same essentially as APs and IBs.
