Nomination deadline

Hello,
I have always loved the idea of going to West Point, but when I took my SAT in June my score was far to low to even be competitive. Knowing I wouldn’t get a nomination, I never applied for them. However, I have since taken the November SAT (was unable to take September due to personal reasons) and scored much higher to where I would be very competitive. The problem I continue to find though, is that I cannot find a source to nominate me as I fear I’m seeking a nomination too late. I live in western NY, and am wondering if any of you know if there are any ways I could still get a nomination. If I cannot find a path in I will continue with my plans to just join ROTC and serve after college. Thank you.

This is rather late in the nomination process, but you should go to your congressmen’s and senators’ websites and follow the processes outlined there. You will need to fill out their respective application forms and submit your high school transcript, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, and write an essay. You may want to call each of these offices first to understand their timelines.

Your other option is to apply to a 4 year college/uni and also apply for a ROTC scholarship. Then after a year at this school, apply to West Point. Many cadets at West Point arrive from other colleges.
