Nomination for CEED Leadership Program

anyone else in engineering get this and/or know the importance of it?

nvm i searched the forum and found this from last year

"Hi and congratulations! My S is a current CEED freshman and quite frankly it was one of the main reasons he chose UCLA. Priority housing and enrollment is nice, but then again some other groups of students also get these so it's not as if you have "first pick," but it does help IMO. You also get guaranteed enrollment in orientation session #102 and an earlier move-in time in the fall, free tutoring, workshops, scholarship opportunities, and guidance. Above all, the best thing that you get from CEED is the opportunity to attend the summer bridge program to get a feel for what classes will be like once you start in the fall, and to get better acquainted with fellow CEED students. In a large university like UCLA, the CEED program can really help you in that you belong to a smaller community from day one, which can make it a little easier to start off in a brand new place where you don't know many other people. My S has made some good friendships with fellow CEED students. I think it's a great opportunity "

so has anyone else received this letter....?

yes, it's a very good indicator that you could be admitted. i got this letter in mid janurary, attended the event around late january which i found it to be very informative. I have also been invited to attend a second event called CEED PACES which is in june 2nd and we are days away from finding out if we get admitted or not.

Hmmm...UCLA CEED | Home >.>

I see. I heard they get some sweet hook-ups. Dude, the minorities get all the opportunities!
