<p>i would say that it depends on your congressman. I'm sure they all have different ways of doing things. Mine for instance had basically a mini-AFA list of things i needed to complete and send to him ( essays, test scores, picture, resume, etc). Then you have the interview. Depending on how you do in your interview it could be easy for you even if you arnt that strong.
Me for example- I'm not an amazing candidate, i would say that i fall into the middle academically, physically, and probably low middle in extracurriculars ( dont have many since theres no transportation to and from my house afterschool except for the first bus. And i'm a year younger than everyone else in my grade. So i just got my license the summer of senior year. Anyway, i have a lot of work experience, but not much EC experience.)</p>
<p>I had no idea that I was going to try and get into the Academy until i realized what i wanted to do with my life over the summer, and i got a nomination pretty easily, i would say.</p>
<p>But once again, its gotta depend on your congressman, and how competitive your district is.</p>
