I saw a similar thread where people posted up where they got nominations from. I thought it'd be kind of nice to know what nominations have already been given, and especially if anyone else from my district NJ5 has gotten a nomination.

The only nomination I got was from my Congressman, California District 7. I got a letter from the Vice President saying he got my application packet and a letter from the Naval Academy reminding me to bug them and not the Vice President when it came down to nominations. I haven't heard anything from the California Senators yet. Has anyone in California received any news concerning senatorial nominations?

^^^^^^^
Our child had a phone interview with Sen. Feinstein's panel also. Have not heard back yet. However, that was for USAFA. Since our CA senators allow only 1 SA per candidate, the packet with her office was for USAFA. USMA was the request through Sen. Boxer's office & he requested all 3 from our Congresional rep. He found out Fri. the rep gave him all 3 noms, so he shouldn't get the nom through either senator's office. They all coordinate with one another in order to free up noms for qualified kids, thankfully. Our son has LOA's from USMA & USAFA, now he just waits on USNA.

According to Sen. Boxer's website, don't expect to hear anything from her office until sometime in Jan., if your child is chosen to be interviewed. They convene last.

Two years ago our D applied through Feinstein and Boxer as well as our Rep. It did not appear that there was coordination between the senators and our Rep as our D received noms from both Feinstein and our Rep for the same academy (USMA). There did appear to be coordination between Feinstein and Boxer (the two senators). At that time, notifcation from both was abt 7 days after the interviews that were held abt dec 10.

I got a nom through my congressmen’s office, and in Washington State the senators and congressmen work together so they don't nominate the same person twice. I don't know if another state does this as well. I still have my ROTC nom though.

i just received a loa for west point, but i don't think i'll receive any nominations for west point( i did receive nomination to USNA and USAFA, but didn't get LOA from any of them yet). Wut's goin to happen to me now?

I just got my LOA to USMA in the mail today, But I don't have any nomination to USMA though. Is it possible that I can get a superindentent nomination since they already decide to send me a LOA?

Also, If i never heard from Feinstein after the interview, is it possible that i didn't receive the nomination?

thewill - applying early for a nomination most likely sends a message that you are organized and serious about attending an academy, but if it gives you a better chance of getting one is anybody's guess.

I believe the MOCs have to send their nomination list to USMA sometime in January. I don't know if the deadline is middle of January or the end. When they notify you probably depends upon the state you are in. In Washington they usually notify people by mid-January.

I had a phone interview on Nov. 18th and I got a call on Nov. 20th from my congressman saying he had nominated me. I have everything in and am just waiting to hear back.

Airborne101, yes other states' congressmen and senators work together I got a letter in the mail saying they want to give everyone a shot at getting in, but then again, I'm also from Maine.
