<p>Tell me about the non-academic attributes of Penn:
1) What are the campus aesthetics? Is it a pretty campus and how does it compare to others?
2) Is the size and lay out of the campus easy to negotiate? Are all parts of the campus connected or are some parts separated from the rest?
3) Is there a lot to do on campus outside of studying and is the student body involved on campus? Does it have a stimulating, active and vital "feel" or does it feel quite and lifeless?
4) Do the athletic teams generate any school spirit and is there much student participation and support for the teams?
5) What is the quality of the surrounding community (within walking distance)--is it a good "college town"? Does it provide any opportunities for fun and relaxation (eg, good resturants, bars, shops etc) and to what extent is it used by students? How does the surrounding area compare to say Madison , or Ann Arbor or Cambridge?
Thanks.</p>
<p>1) Well, it's an urban campus so you're not living in a forest. It's not the prettiest campus, but it's not ugly either.
2) The whole campus is connected and easy to navigate I think. The engineering buildings are located all the way at one end, so that can be annoying, but even they aren't that far away.
3) There's a lot to do on campus, but from my experience you have to go and find it, it won't come to you.
4) Haha... no. I went and threw toast once and that was that. Well, maybe the basketball team, but if you won't big time college sports and school spirit, try elsewhere.
5) It's not a "college town." It's the city of Philadelphia. Whereas Ann Arbor, the city almost feels like an extension of the school, Penn feels like one district of Philadelphia. A district it can be easy to get stuck in. Philadelphia is a great city though, it's just not a "college town."</p>
<p>1) what he said
2) what he said
3) what he said
4) what he said, except I threw toast a couple times and went to Penn-Princeton basketball games
5) what he said. Philadelphia is a great city for college. Big enough to be interesting and not so big as to overwhelm college (<em>cough columbia cough</em>)</p>
<p>PennMasala!! I think they're like the best performing arts group on campus :P</p>
<p>They're so not. Penn-Six is :P</p>
