Non approved credits

What happens to credits that aren’t accepted by the school you are transferring to? Do they stay on your record and affect your GPA and credits taken number?

Each college or university that you attend produces its own transcript. Whenever you apply for a job that requires copies of all of your college records, or for admission to a degree program, you have to request all of your transcripts from every place you have ever attended.

This means that if you transfer, all of your courses from College A will be on the College A transcript, and all of the courses from College B, plus courses that transferred from College A, will be on the College B transcript. What College C makes of your records from A and your records from B is entirely up to College C. Maybe everything will be averaged together. Maybe only the XXX most recent credits will count.

Whether College B includes the transferred courses from College A in your overall GPA at College B is entirely up to College B. Only the transferred credits from College A will count toward the total number of credits needed for a degree from College B.
