I know. I was aware what you said. It's just that in 'Fiske Guide to Colleges 2005' it listed Deep Springs' location as Dyer, NV. So when you said CA I thought you made a mistake. But I guess we're both right, depending on how you look at it. Anyways, I apologize for the confusion.

i also believe it was mentioned in newsweek magazine's "america's hottest colleges" edition that it was one of the most selective schools in the country

I think UCLA is as prestigious among employers as many if not all of the Ivy League schools. They have a national and international reputation, great programs, an incredible alumni network.

Its strange. I'm a high school senior living in California applying to the UC's, and my top UC choices are UCSD (San Diego for those of you who dont know...) and UCLA. UC Berkeley is a school that i would not want to ever go to...Strangely enough, many of my friends agree with me on this...a few of the reasons:
1. Its next to San Fransisco, and the weather isnt exactly great
2. UCLA and UCSD have a wide variety of extra curricular's because of the good weather, and both schools are getting more and more popular.
3. (correct me if im wrong) Berkeley is famous, but they arent really quite known for being specialized in any kind of major
4. UCLA is known for its medical research center, its acting school, and location (Los Angeles anyone?)
5. UCSD is known for its biomedical engineering program (#3 nationwide), and its location (San Diego)

All in all, many people i know, including myself, would prefer UCSD or UCLA over UCB
