Non Common App school applications

Given the horrendous odds of getting into a music(al) theater program, and my D’s hell-bent determination to do so, she’ll be applying to over 20 schools. Since the Common App maintains a 20 school limitation, what programs did you (or your sons or daughters) apply to NOT using the Common App (i.e., either the school’s proprietary application or the coalition app was used instead).

Thanks for your suggestions on schools that don’t require the Common App for MT applicants.

We did not do a great job being strategic about this. Looking back I would have assessed this before we started the applications because several school allow either Common App or their own but some do not allow anything but Common App. I know for sure the following schools do not require Common App: Boston Conservatory , Point Park, Roosevelt , Temple , Texas Tech , Texas State, UNC Greensboro, Viterbo, Ball State, Hartt, Montclair State, U of the Arts, Western Michigan, and Kent State

In addition to the ones listed above, Baldwin Wallace has there own online application.

James Madison University accepts their own application or the Coalition App.

Also - University of Miami, University of Central Oklahoma, LIU Post, East Carolina, Oklahoma City University, Cornish College of the Arts, Arizona State, Ball State, Coastal Carolina (which also has a non-audition BA program), Florida State and Emerson don’t require Common App. And I know there are many more!

Shenandoah also has their own application.
