Non-Custodial Parent and IDOC

So, my father informed today that though he completed the Non-Custodial Parent Supplement on the CSS Profile, he has still not submitted his taxes to the IDOC (according to his accountant, they are still not ready). I haven't received any emails from the CollegeBoard or any of my colleges about this. My mother has submitted her forms on time. Is this going to affect any aid that I receive, or should I simply interpret the fact that no one contacted me as a foreshadowing of massive rejection on March 30th and April 1st (all the colleges I applied to on the CSS were high matches/reaches)? Is it too late to send them next week when my father's accountant says he will be receiving the tax forms?

I don’t think you should assume the fact you haven’t heard from colleges about your father’s tax documents as a foreshadowing of massive rejection.

You might want to call the FA office at the schools to which you applied and let them know your father won’t be able to get his IDOC packet sent until next week. They will tell you if that is going to be a problem.

My guess is that you might end up with acceptances, but with a tentative FA award until your father’s information can be verified. Still, if you’re missing deadlines (or rather, your father is missing the deadline) it would probably be a good idea to check in with your colleges FA offices on that.

Ok- the reason I asked about the acceptances is that I had been asked to verify FAFSA information for a school by sending tax returns and was later accepted, so I was wondering if they weren’t going to ask for information if it was because they wouldn’t need it. I had five schools on the CSS, but there are only three that I am still really interested in attending with my other acceptances, so I might just call those three. I know they’re not allowed to release info early and on the phone, but I’m terrified they’ll be like “Don’t bother, you didn’t get in anyway” if I call.
