Non-Honors bad for GPA? band/jazz/P.E.

Hello, I need your help making a decision. I’m taking band and jazz band which are both non-honors, and my other courses are all honors or AP (i’m a freshman), however there’s also a course called hope that’s required for graduation and since I’m doing marching band I’ll fulfill half the credit but have to finish it online for the health area and since HOPE is not weighted should I not take it until the summer before 12th so it won’t affect the GPA colleges see?
Please help?

@wiseprincess108 I can guarantee you that colleges look at your achievements in context to your school. For example, my school has restrictions that make taking honors and AP classes for underclassmen near impossible unless you test into them your freshman year (this is just for honors classes). If EVERYONE in your school has to take unweighted classes, then so be it, no one will ever have a 5.0 weighted GPA, and that will be completely fine. I would like to offer a word of caution though: Please proceed to your freshman with caution. I do admire your ambition, but remember that freshman year is about getting acquainted with your school, and the fact that you’re not easing your way into the matter of course rigor gives you a higher chance of actually lowering your GPA, since you might not be prepared for some things. Best of luck to you, and enjoy your high school years.
