Okay, so biological sciences are probably one of the more selective majors at UCD. Does anyone know how hard it is to be accepted as a chemistry major though? Hopefully it’s not too hard):
I have a friend who was rejected from chemistry at Davis, but accepted into SD, so it’s a little unnerving.

if you’re really that worried about it why don’t you just apply undeclared in letters & science?

what is it you want to major in bio for?

Probably biochem or molecular chemistry. Sucks that the new elc policy means Davis wont guarantee acceptance to top 4% anymore… I know its fairly easy to change majors at Davis, but i’d be fine with chemistry even if i cant transfer into bio.

molecular biology*

Non-impacted? Well I know for sure Stastistics isn’t impacted at all, as confirmed by the department program coordinator. LOL, and at my transfer orientation there was only four of us.

Here is a list of student head count with regards to undergraduate majors. Look at the right column for Fall 2010 data.

actually, if you apply undeclared, i think you’ll be more likely to get denied. i know someone a year older than me (and i think he was way better than me, with harder classes and more ap and stuff) who applied for davis as undeclared and got denied.
oh and i got in if that wasn’t obvious haha
