Non-Traditional Student Help (Decisions...)

Here is my story:

I'm 25 years old, in my last semester at my CC. I'm trying to transfer with an AA-T to USC, LMU, CSULB, UCLA & CSUN. My G.P.A. is a 3.47.

Here is my problem. I have not heard anything back from the UC's yet, CSULB already accepted me for their communications program. LMU just accepted me 2 days ago to their institution. I'm still waiting on USC as that's my number 1 school but everyone keeps telling me it won't be until may until I hear from them. I have to put my deposit down for attendance at LMU by May 1st and I still don't know my financial aid package.

It's a lot of unknowns because while I want to go to LMU, they didn't give me details plus my counselors and peers have told me that since I've been working full-time for the past 4 years that they most likely won't give me the best package and LMU is quite expensive. Plus I'm still waiting on USC and their decision. So what do I do? What are my next steps? Scholarships listed on each schools website and see what they offer or can help me with? Start applying for student loans? Or just go to CSULB because of the tuition?

P.S. I've already did my FAFSA...

Sorry if this is long.

Have you asked USC for an early decision and LMU for an early FA package? If not, do so, it can’t hurt. If neither will oblige, you may have to put the deposit down at LMU if you want to keep that option open; and deposits are usually not refundable.

How do I ask for those two items in early FA package and for early decision at USC? I applied at the regular deadline for UDC by February 1st.

Call/email the school, explain your situation (eg. need to make a deposit on another school by May 1, could USC give you an early decision).
