Hello all, I'm an incoming freshman and was wondering what the employment opportunities for non-work-study students are like at Northwestern? Is it easy to find a job that pays relatively well (~$10 per hour, more is better, less is... doable), has flexible hours, and is on-/near campus? Is there a website that compiles all the information regarding these job opportunities? Everything I've found so far is work-study-related and I recognize that those students should get priority when looking for employment, but I'm hoping there are also options for those of us who just want to make some extra cash.

I don’t have any specific information to help you, but my S is a student at NU and I can tell you that the city of Evanston is an easy walk from South campus with lots of shops, book stores, eateries, etc. and there is a published guide to Evanston stores, businesses, etc available with addresses and phone numbers that the University gave us that would give an early start to a job search. Downtown Evanston was literally at the back door of my S’s dorm, PARC. Good luck, and you will LOVE the NU environment!
