Nonacademic recommendation?

<p>I'm having two of my teachers at school write recommendations for me for NU. I also want a nonacademic recommendation written for me by my volunteer adviser. Can I do this? </p>

<p>When I visited NU earlier this month, I thought the admissions officer said I'm allowed to send in nonacademic recommendations, but I am unable to find any kind of form on the admissions website (maybe my memory is playing tricks on me). If I am allowed to send in a nonacademic rec, how should my adviser format it and send it in?</p>

<p>I’m doing a similar thing. And the professor I asked is just writing it in a letter format. Most recs are written that way, even the ones your teacher writes. They just add the common app form. But I think an official letter head from your adviser’s agency would be good and official, but not necessary. Best of luck</p>
