Nontraditional African American Potential English Major

I’ve been out of school for over a decade, but I have a good career path and a solid GPA (around 3.5). I know it’s not spectacular, and by no means am I claiming to be Ivy League material. I’m not pursuing Brown RUE, Harvard Extension, Columbia General Studies, or the adult programs at Yale or UPenn.

I’m currently looking at some traditional schools/programs (Howard University, Temple University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor), but am open to suggestions. Does anyone know of schools that are particularly welcoming/academically strong for older students? Any feedback would be helpful. I do prefer the East Coast and the Big Ten if that isn’t plainly obvious.

No suggestions, but good luck. Plenty of colleges are open to older students. Perhaps you should read through a list of college names and ask about specific schools that interest you in their respective forums on CC.
