im going to be a senior in high school, so that means applications and lots of them. but before that you have to find the schools and thats where i am a little confused. everyone knows what the nations top colleges are but how do you find colleges that you havent heard of, which might still be right for you? basically,
how should i find the colleges that fits my need?
how did you find your/
thanks a bunch.

Collegeboard has a college matching thing. Google it, you input what you want as a campus in terms of size, what your academics are like, what clubs you want, and it spits out a bunch of matches.

This is it.

Consider a few variables. Which of these do you prefer:

Big school? Small school?
Location (in state or far away, climate concerns, city/suburban/rural)

Where do your interests lie – sciences, fine arts, pre-law? Look for schools where a lot of students major in the area you’re interested in. Your high school college counselor can help with that (and so can people here).

I went to a small school I never heard of after talking with my high school college counselor about my academic interests, and it worked out well for me.

START with how much you can afford. Many, especially those who are not top students looking at financially generous top colleges, do a lot of work before realizing their state schools are probably the only financial fit.

this was a crucial piece of information i thought i was lacking. but with your help i think i will be okay. thanks!
