A rabbi’s note? For what? Not taking the bus on Friday early evening?
I’m not going to get into all the fake notes stuff…that may work, but it’s not worth the slimy feeling?

yikesyikesyikes has very good points. The recent investments in the dorm refurbs have been on Central. They have been great (I mean if you haven’t seen West Quad this year, you should - fabulous). But, real investments needs to be made to the North dorms to really make them much more desirable. This will be more important than a really expensive monorail being discussed.

For being able to access religious services on Friday night and Saturday since if you really were observant you couldn’t ride the bus to Hillel. It’s amazing how many kids in our area suddenly (cough cough ) become observant right before college.

AGREED
@wayneandgarth Not sure I agree. I have heard not one complaint from kids at markley and it is pretty disgusting. In fact when my daughters friend at West tried to get someone to trade for Markley she couldn’t get any takers. It’s the social life that really seems to be many kids first priority.
@maya54 - I understand your point however, I’m not sure that Bursley has any fewer freshmen than Markley. Nonetheless, the point I was trying to make is that it is adding insult to injury when you have the dorms in the poorer location also being the ones most in need of upgrade (along with their adjacent dining halls). Updated North Campus dorms/dining halls would make them somewhat more enticing (yes, I understand that the location wouldn’t be fixed by that.)
^^^^ agree with that @wayneandgarth. I’m not sure why Markley is so much more social than Bursley since you are right that Bursley has as many if not more Freshman but it is.
Note that the community dinning halls and air conditioning dorm rooms in Central and Hill area were improvements in recent years. Five years ago or so, they are the same way as in North Campus. Indeed, Dorms in North Campus were quite popular when I first came to Ann Arbor many years ago (it was in last century) as the buildings and furniture were newer those in main campus at that time.
