North Carolina School for the Arts Summer program

<p>Does anyone know about North Carolina School for the Arts summer Drama program? What is the overall experience like? How competitive is it to get into? How are the teachers? Any and all comments are highly appreciated.</p>

<p>I’m looking to apply to it, too. From the research I’ve done, this is the only thing I’ve found.
Drama - 5 Week Program </p>

<p>Previous drama or acting experience is not essential.</p>

<p>Applicants must be at least 15 years of age and must have completed 9th grade.</p>

<p>Submit: </p>

<p>Completed application (all required questions answered both on paper and electronic version), and non-refundable application fee ($60 for U.S. Residents/Permanent Residents and $110 for international applicants) payable by check or money order (no cash) to UNCSA.
Two (2) letters of recommendation:</p>

<p>One letter preferably from a dramatic arts teacher.</p>

<p>One letter from an academic teacher or guidance counselor indicating the student’s maturity level.
One-page statement of why you wish to attend the Summer Program in Drama. </p>

<p>So apparently, there’s not even an audition… Weird, considering I’ve heard they only accept 28 drama majors a year, and for that audition, you need three monologues and a song… Are you looking to apply to go to the school of drama?</p>
