Typical Junior at a high school looking at my chances for NCSU.

Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Asian
Residency: In-state
ACT / SAT: Comp: 24 // I'm taking the SAT this Saturday.
----(I probably won't do so well. I'm a horrible test-taker. My ACT is an indicator of my test anxiety.)
GPA: 3.93 Unweighted // 4.612 Weighted
Rank: 6 out of 92
Community service (52 hours as of right now) and other community involvement

Clubs:
Member in National Beta Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Yearbook, and International Club
Secretary of National Honors Society; hoping to be president next semester and I am wanting to make our chapter well-known throughout the community
(I've worked two jobs the moment I turned 16 so I wasn't really able to do many EC's or clubs. Senior year, I will be going all-out because I will be almost done!)

I have only made 1 B in my entire high school career. I take high school classes and college classes on a college campus to get my high school diploma and Associates in Arts degree when I graduate next year.

Your ACT is a bit low but your GPA and class rank are great! Personally I think you’ll get in, particularly if you apply to first year college or something other than the engineering majors.

I do recommend retaking the ACT- see if you can get it up to a 28. Your chances are descent, but you are coming from a small school, and unfortunately due to affirmative action, your ethnicity makes it a bit harder. (Stupid, I know.)
Don’t worry much about community service. They really don’t care that much about it. Get more involved around school- join different clubs or just try them out! However, you are working two jobs which is great! You just need a bit more to your extra-curricular list to make yourself a better candidate. Be sure to be on good terms with teachers so they can write you recommendations! And shoot for more leadership positions- colleges love those.

Your GPA is awesome, though! Keep up the good attitude! NC State application also has an essay, so touch up your writing skills if needbe.
