I’m going to be a neuroscience major in the honors program. Ive looked at some of the dorms and I’ve narrowed it down to North and West campus…probably leaning toward North. I’ve heard good and bad about both. Any opinions on either?
Also, for a biological type major which house is approximately closest to classes?
I want a quiet dorm but I dont want it to be so antisocial its not fun. I like the layout of the double in Taylor and other houses. I don’t really want a quad…
Last question: are honors dorms worth it? Are they beneficial?

I’m assuming you are an incoming freshman. If that is so, you will be in a quad or maybe a triple if you choose North. North dorms are a little closer to classes, but West dorms are a little closer to the food on South (there is food on North, but we don’t like to talk about it). All the buildings on North are about the same distance from the academic buildings.

Unfortunately, you don’t get to get a list of all the rooms and pick which one you want. You’ll have to decide which is more important: a room to study in or a room to socialize in. Honors dorms are quieter and generally much stricter about drinking. These were both positives for me so it was an easy choice.

Thank you so much!!!

OSUAeroEngr - do many freshman live in the towers or are those spots given mostly to upperclassmen?

My D is hoping for a super double in Taylor, OSU Aero, are you saying that is not even possible being a freshmen? How do they rank possibilities on the housing forms? Thanks for your help.

yes how likely is it for a freshman to get a double in north?

Somehow I missed these responses, sorry. Freshmen getting a double on North, especially Taylor, is pretty much unheard of. Barring a disability which requires certain accommodations, freshmen will either be in quad or triple with most in a quad.
