Son is interested in studying chemistry and has received some interest from NESCAC colleges due to football, but it seems like SAT scores are on low side for these schools (660R/620M/590W). Mostly a B/B- student at a decent public high school with honors classes in math/sciences. He would like to stay in northeast area. Any suggestions on schools that might be a fit?

those scores seem like they would be in the area for the NESCACs, again depending on position… some positions are known to be smarter than others. lol or so they say. A coach at one of the leading nescacs, where my son did not go, said… 700 scores and you were in without him using a pick. After that the lower the scores the more it cost him with admissions… and he only had so much. Seems like your sons scores are close enough to that to not have too much trouble…

All the NESCACS are great academically so you cant lose their. Perhaps location or “type” of kid would make the difference… Or who would have the better research or post grad program if that is what your son is looking for.

PM if you would like to discuss…after finishing a senior football year with recruiting, I realized there is so much I did not know…
