Northeastern Business worth the cost

My daughter got accepted in to NE Business school and UW (no major) – NE tuition fee is about $70k vs $10k at UW (in-state) – is NE brand and education worth the costs?

Can you afford 70k a year? It’s four years for a total of 280,000 vs 40,000… that’s if there aren’t any surprises

I assume that there’s an additional cost for room & board at UW?

UW Madison or Seattle?

$70,000 is the total cost at northeastern. $10,000 must only be tuition at UW. Did he receive any scholarships or grant at either?

yes, $10k is only tuition; she did receive $10k grant

UW Seattle

it’s not about affordability – its about value for tuition fees; this is not a ivy league school …just another private college/

yes …that’s why I am comparing just the tuition fees.

I recommend UW. Overall NEU is ranked less than 10 spots higher than UW Seattle on US News. The quality of education between the two isn’t going to be tremendous but the cost will be. There’s also plenty of job opportunities in both, so for the most part, they’re pretty equal schools

actually, I take it back – based on net price calculator, it is $28k minus room & board and NE’s costs includes room & board

I don’t see Northeastern as being worth that price differential.

I agree with happy1, especially if you would have to take out more than the 4 year $27K total in Federal Student Loans at NEU.

No. Save your money and send your kid to UDub.

Northeastern grads are no more successful than UW grads in general. The reason to choose Northeastern or not is a factor of whether you really value the coop experience which they offer, which is rare among American colleges.
