Northeastern ED2 GPA calculation

I just read a post awhile back that said Northeastern recalculates to find weighted gpa by doing unweighted + (ie .5 for honors, 1 for AP (can’t remember the rest). Is this method true still? I have a 3.6UW GPA, so if I took all honors classes I have a 4.1W GPA by their standards?

@PengsPhils

@yellowlab64 Correct, and this would be reflected in the reported middle 50% GPA on the admissions website. They may also disinclude non-core academic classes like gym, health, etc, but this is not clear in either direction.

I think nearly all schools try to do this in order to standardize GPA’s across many high schools, but you tend not to see that recalculation used in external numbers like with Northeastern.

Dang lol. Guess my gpa falls at the 25th percentile. What do you think the gpa is of enrolled students? I assume it has to be less than all admitted students (the 4.1-4.5 stat they give)

Hard to say, it’d just be guessing. Based on that 33-35 admitted goes to 32-34 enrolled, I would say 3.9-4.3 or 4.0-4.4 would be decent guesses.
