Hey guys! I got into northeastern class of 2023 and I have to make a decision between NU and a few other schools. I was wondering how are the classes at northeastern? I applied under the finance major and hope to go into IB. I was wondering how hard/competitive it is and how prestigious the business program it is. With good grades and the co-ops program, is it easy to break into IB? Thank you!
I can’t speak firsthand to the classes, but I can help on the co-op’s and IB generally from what I know from friends and other sources.
This PDF highlights co-op employers for all of the business concentrations and generally and should give you an idea of the top co-op’s:

The highlighted finance co-op employers:
You’ll find plenty of big banks and some big IB names as well on there. While not traditionally a “target” recruitment school, co-op does a great job of letting people “break in” to IB and banking generally.
Breaking into IB won’t be easy wherever you go, but co-op should allow you great opportunities to. The top co-op’s will be competitive, but there are also plenty of valuable co-op’s that are less competitive that will help you build up your resume and improve your chances to get one of the top co-ops.
Hope that helps!
