Binghamton is a well regarded school and is ABET accredited. When you visit this weekend you should ask about where engineering graduates get jobs.
Agree with @happy1. But don’t settle for fuzzy answers like, “our graduates work at places like Apple, Google, SpaceX, and Tesla.” Ask for real data. Ask how many companies came to the last career fair. Ask for a list of the names of companies present at the last career fair. Ask if engineering has their own career fair. Ask about placement data - how many seniors have jobs lined up? Take a walk to Career Services to get a feel for the people and the facility.
Try to speak with seniors in engineering (not just admins) about their experience with career services and finding jobs.
My guess is that Binghamton does a good job at getting their students hired.
Good luck!
Thanks everyone for the advice!
Does anyone have any more info on the IBE program at Lehigh? It sounds incredible, but it also seems like the degree lends itself to jobs that don’t have as much to do with engineering
