Hi all ive gotten admitted to Northeastern University, NYU, and Columbia University. All three were my top choices. I plan on going into business and hopefully investment banking. This decision should be a no brainer by either going with Columbia or NYU but i have friends that currently are at Northeastern that passed up some top schools for there coop program. A couple actually just got placed into UBS and ML investment banking as Sophomore's for 6 month rotation. I am seriously considering choosing Northeastern due to there coop program and placement and i know they are an up and coming universtiy. Any thoughts??? Thanks for your comments and i need to make a decision soon.

Wow! It is great that you got into those schools! I recommend that you also consider financial issues and which place you think you would want to also have a life besides school work. You will have to live at (or around) that school for years so you want to make sure location is good too! Good luck with your decision and once again, congrats!

How could you know about Columbia right now? Ivies do common notification in March for RD and they also do ED which is binding.

Go to Columbia if you want to do I-banking the two others schools do not even come close to the amount of doors you have open after graduation.

Columbia econ. if you want to do I-banking, it’d be hard to pass that up

Hey i did early decision had an interview about 3 weeks back and heard from them a couple days ago. I would love to do columbia but financial reasons is really Hurting me and this might force me to break the ED. I got a pretty large scholarship from Northeastern University and the coop program would help me pay off some of tuition and also get valuable experience. I know having the IVY name is huge but unfortunately money is a main issue right now. Thanks for your response guys im really stuck in bind right now

You shouldn’t have applied ED if finances were a concern.

Wait a minute…you signed an ED contract with Columbia, were accepted, but didn’t withdraw your other apps?

I’d suggest that you accept Columbia, which is the best choice anyway, and quickly withdraw from the other two before Columbia finds out and rescinds you.

just go with Columbia. You signed an ED agreement. You can try to wriggle some more Fin Aid out if that is an issue or go with the loans…since you DID apply early decision.

How did you apply ED to Columbia, interview two months after ED decisions were made, and get accepted ED two-and-a-half months after ED decisions were made?

After reading your comment and seeing what others have said, I’m flabbergasted that you got into all three. Hope whatever you chose worked for you!
