Is it theoretically possible to attend both UChicago AND Northwestern? Like, transfer credits from each campus to meet the general requirements and take classes for two majors, one degree at Northwestern, the other at UChicago?

I'm not really seriously considering doing this if I get in to either place, but I'm just wondering if it's possible.

btw: I live on the North Shore, I commute to school each week, I know how transportation works in Chicago.

I think Chicago’s ridiculous core would obstruct any attempt to do that. Not to mention that the school is quite pretentious about its “great books” education…

Ok... I was just wondering... I wasn't seriously considering doing it, I was just wondering if it's possible... I'm applying to both, and if I couldn't decide hey... I could try and do that.

But I've taken classes at Northwestern already, lived nearby for most of my life and love it. I'd tentatively have to say it's my first choice (with a few Ivies close behind).

Kk19131 - the core wouldn't have mattered really. Undergrad was supposed to take place on NU and graduate was going to happen at UChicago. So I doubt Chicago would have had as much say in the undergraduate program.

Really... all the rankings I've seen show Northwestern where is was last year, at #12... and I'm looking at the leaked US News versions, not the BS Newsweek stuff.

The scans look like forgery, insomuch as the numbers happen to be scanned in such a way that there are no curves until one reaches the point where only the colored bars need to be curved.

^ The person who posted the rankings has 1100+ posts and is well-established on the forums. Two people have since confirmed the rankings, both of whom have more than 90 posts. Do you just expect all three of them to come back on Friday morning, admitting that they teamed up to perpetrate this magnificent hoax after spent hours Photoshopping and re-Photoshopping a grainy magazine spread, and then say, "GOTCHA!!!!!!!!!!"?

Also, it's probably not that hard to get an advanced copy if you work at a bookstore or something. It's not like this is insider trading info. lol
