Northwestern AND UChicago???

Is it theoretically possible to attend both UChicago AND Northwestern? Like, transfer credits from each campus to meet the general requirements and take classes for two majors, one degree at Northwestern, the other at UChicago?

I'm not really seriously considering doing this if I get in to either place, but I'm just wondering if it's possible.

btw: I live on the North Shore, I commute to school each week, I know how transportation works in Chicago.

Probably not. For one, Chicago is very particular about what classes count towards the Core. Second, NU uses "quarter hours" and Chicago uses just "credits," so there isn't really a one-to-one mapping between classes attended at Chicago and classes attended at NU. Third, I would be surprised if both schools didn't have rules preventing you from being enrolled as a degree-seeking student at another university.

Wouldn't that be grand though?

You can't get a second Bachelor's degree from Chicago, but you can from Northwestern. Also, we don't allow you to enroll in a second degree-seeking program besides ours.

"Second, NU uses "quarter hours" and Chicago uses just "credits,""

-What does this mean??? I'm pretty sure Northwestern has just credits....

Well, I don't know specifically about NU, but my understanding is that their system is similar to most school's credit-hour system. At Chicago every class is worth exactly one credit.

The same goes at Northwestern. A student needs 45/48 credits for his degree. That is 45/48 classes. The school does nothing with credit hours.

Ok, 'twas wrong.

go, you chicago treator
