Northwestern as a Reach?

<p>I was wondering if Northwestern would work well as a reach school for me, or if it's too high of a reach?</p>

<p>Female, Asian, Cognitive Science Major
GPA: 3.56 UW, 4.0 W
SAT: 2200 (CR 750, M 670, W 780)
ECs: just the usual clubs and volunteering
AP Exams: US History (4), Biology (3), English Language and Composition (5)
Essays will most likely be above average, I'm good at writing. + I think I have somewhat of a hook</p>

<p>Though my GPA is low, I show a strong upward trend (I messed up a lot freshman year) and took rigorous courses at my competitive school. And I think my SAT isn't too bad for Northwestern, but I'm not sure.</p>

<p>This is the most selective school on my college list right now, is it too high?</p>

<p>I agree, it is a reach but I would definitely apply, especially with that SAT score. The upward trend in your GPA should also help. Even if you get denied at least you won’t forever wonder if you could’ve gotten in.</p>
