So in 2017 it was?
If the trend is 2016-18 and 2017-19, maybe thats what theyre doing?
What if you don’t have an interview. Would you still have a chance to get in?
@Nonomom Yes.
An interview is valued, but not having one doesnt directly relate to rej.
refer to the reasons they give as to why an app doesnt get an interview if at all.
This is assuming that the word of the college is true.
If its not, then it could suggest pre-screening of apps, but that doesnt mean rej. for people who are pre-screened out.
I am stealing this info from a few pages back. As you can see there has not been any sort of tend with when decisions are released:
Wednesday, 3/21/2018
Friday, 3/17/2017
Thursday, 3/17/2016
Monday, 3/23/2015
Thursday, 3/20/2014
Monday, 3/18/2013
Thx for the information @PrdMomto1 I don’t know if this helps or hurts, but the following is the business day in March that notifications were made in previous years:
2018 - 15th
2017 - 13th
2016 - 13th
2015 - 16th
2014 - 14th
2013 - 12th
Today is the 14th business day of March. I don’t think any of the above is conclusive for a specific date, but if past pattern hold decisions will definitely be out this week. The only caveat might be if schools are being extra careful and double checking credentials in light of the recent admissions scandal. Good luck to all, but please remember that while NU is a terrific school, there are lots of fantastic institutions. I strongly believe that where someone goes to school is less important than what they do when they’re there.
@FLcubsfan Its definitely this week.
We just cant pinpoint when. Data from different sources suggest differently.
At best its out 3/20-3/22.
Thats confirmed.
Is it bad that I forgot to register for the interviewing program??
@waterinthesink Generally the adcom contacts you on their own, but they suggest to sign up for virtual interviews for international apps by some link at their interviews page.
It may have helped, in getting an interview, so you shouldve definitely signed onto it, but it may not be 100% certain that it couldve happened.
Now decisions roll out in a few days, so hope for the best and hold on tight.
THey will have waived your interview.
Do they always release at 6 p.m. Central time?
It’s usually released at 4:45 CST, based on previous years’ discussions
Someone seemed very adamant that it will be 6 pm CST this year, but someone else said it’s been at 2:30 CST every year for the past 5 years or something. ED came out around 4:30pm CST in December, so who knows.
I do think there is a difference in the time they post updates and the time they send emails, however. I never received an email when they released ED decisions, but maybe that was because they knew I had already viewed my decision?
Today?
For the past 6 years, 4:45 CST has been the time that the status update was posted on the portal. Don’t know when they send emails though!
So is it today or tomorrow? or maybe friday?
Nobody knows for sure what day it is, but statistically, it is most likely tomorrow, next most likely Friday, then today.
That’s based on the day of the week it most frequently is, and the day of the month. Please read back lmao
I find the level of statistical analysis and data modeling that has gone into figuring out when decisions are going out is to be rather frightening. Stress knitting works for some, but regression analysis can be a coping mechanism as well I suppose. Good luck to all whenever the decisions are released.
3/21>3/22>3/20 is the chance of dec release.
I can settle with this.
Good luck to everyone… my son applied to 20+ university… so you could imagine the stress we are going through
Want it to be today sooooo badly!! My birthday is tomorrow so I don’t want it spoiled when I get bad news :///
Does anyone else think it will be today?
