fellow ED applicant!! I’m freaking out as NU has been my dream school for years. Why do y’all wanna go here?
It’s next to Chicago, big10 school, its quirky students, alumni network, prestige
How do you think they’re gonna evaluate the new SAT?
Anybody wanna chance me? I’m nervous as hell, NU is really my dream school and I’m dying to get in.
Race: White (Middle Eastern) Sex: Male SES: Middle Class (~100k) School: poor public Intended Major: Econ and Math
GPA: 4.0… School doesn’t weigh Class Rank: 1/100
ACT: 34 (35E, 33M, 34R, 35S) SAT II: didn’t send, scores were weak
Senior Courses (school doesn’t offer APs):
Independent Study AP Gov
Dual Enrollment Writing 1 and 2
Physics (honors)
Spanish 4 (honors)
Band
Financial Literacy (required)
Business Ethics (at local university)
Calc 2 (at local university) (took Calc 1 at local university last year, school had to make this class for me. Will take AP test at end of year)

Extracurriculars:
Debate: President, Captain, 2016 State Champion (Ohio) as a junior, 2016 national qualifier, broke local win records as a sophomore and junior.
Track: 3 year Letterman, 5th in county in 4x800
Band: President, Principle Trombone, nominated to various honors bands at local level
NHS: President
Tri-M: President
Quiz Bowl: 4-year Captain
Volunteer at Mosque: 100+ hours
Boys State: Elected Chief Justice, one of 30 students asked to be a counselor in the future (of 1200 kids)
Part time job working scoreboard at middle school sporting events
ACT and Math/Science/History tutor
Editor in Chief of the school newspaper
Essays were solid, told a very good story. Why NU essay was very specific and tied into my interests. Rec letters were awesome, my teachers and counselor raved about me.

How many students are applying ED at your school? Would u say they are strong applicants?
Only one other student at my school is applying ED, and he is a strong candidate. For the most part though, no one knows Northwestern.
