Northwestern Clone?

I am currently a high school junior, and planning on majoring in theatre (non-musical). I fell in love with Northwestern (especially its theatre program) over the summer. It is exactly how I envision college and how I want to study theatre. I am planning on applying their ED. However, recently a classmate of mine, who is also planning on majoring in theatre, visited, and fell in love as well. She is also planning on applying ED. Northwestern only accepts 100 theatre majors, so I am skeptical that two girls from the same HS will get in ED.
I know her gpa is better than mine. So, I am on the hunt to find another school that is as amazing as Northwestern.

Criteria:
-STRONG theatre program
-close to big city, but not necessarily urban
-I am leaning towards a Liberal Arts school rather than conservatory, because I really value the lessons learned from having a well-rounded education
-diverse students
-intellectual students
-colliegete feel

any input would be greatly appreciated!

I would say to look at colleges around the Boston area. Emerson might be a good school for you, however it is right in the middle of the city of Boston at the Boston common, so you will not get the same college feel. If you take a visit and look into it, you might like it.

Have you considered Carnegie Mellon? Also NYU (problem: not really a “collegiate feel” because in Greenwich Village in NYC). N.C. School of the Arts? Maybe Vassar.

Thank you both for your recommendations.
I am actually visiting Boston this spring break and taking tours at BU, BC, Emerson, Brandies & Tufts.
I have toured CMU, but it’s strict conservatory setting didn’t seem to fit my needs.
I am definitely looking at NYU, I just worry that since I am pursuing straight theatre rather than musical theatre if it makes more sense for me to stay closer to Chicago, which is more well known for straight theatre, while NYC is Musical theatre heaven.

If you do look at new york the new school is probably a better music/theater school than NYU.
