<p>Northwestern requests that for RD, you apply by Jan 1.</p>

<p>Does that mean</p>

<p>A) you have until Jan 1st 23:59 to submit the application
B) you have until Dec 31st 23:59 to submit the application</p>

<p>This is driving me crazy. Please let me know. Thanks!</p>

<p>I think its better to apply a little before the deadline anyway... No idea bt it though :(</p>

<p>by jan 1 usually means choice B</p>

<p>EDIT: i just read the website, it says "Deadlines indicate done or sent/postmarked dates."</p>

<p>so that probably means you can submit it on that date (ie choice A), call the admissions office to be sure</p>

<p>Its no problem... I was pretty confused when I landed here on the forums first anyway ....Now that all my applications are sent in and theres nothing much to do(except study!!) I just like coming to CC!</p>

<p>I'd imagine it depends on the way you're applying. If it's through the common app, it would be EST. At least through my experience with it.</p>

<p>If you are planning on submitting your app at midnight CST on January 1st, you probably do not have the time management skills to make it work at NU anyway, I'm sorry to say. The quarter system is FAST, yo.</p>

<p>I submitted my application at around midnight (my time) on the due date, and I live on the west coast. I'm now at northwestern and I've been pretty successful here, so don't feel bad about procrastinating.</p>

<p>As for the quarter system moving fast, I think that's kind of a myth. When I was a senior in high school, I took classes at the local university that was on the semester system. Those classes moved just as fast. I think the semester system is MORE difficult than the quarter system because you need to retain more information for the final.</p>
