Right. So I talked to my mom today. She called Northwestern, since I guess she's kind of antsy too.
The person she talked to was semi-polite to her (I guess since she said she was a parent) and they said they won't be sending things out until Dec. 15. So either they're just saying that to get people off their backs, or....it's going to be that late, which is absolutely ridiculous since that's finals week for me and leaves no time to finish anything.
So, she also sent an email to an old acquaintance of hers who works in admissions to see what's up.
But yeah, for all of you who need to reply back to other schools, this really really sucks. Plus, Northwestern classes start Jan 3...so that leaves how much time for anyone?

Yikes, I have to reply to Rice by Dec. 3, to WashU probably in 3 weeks (if I get my financial aid package next week), and Emory in 2 weeks or so.

Not enough time to visit some schools, contact people if necessary before deciding.

I also applied for the winter term. My dad spoke to the Admissions Officer in charge of transfers. She stated that they were finishing up with the decisions and paperwork. They expect to start mailing out packets later this week. That's all I know for now. Just have to wait it out.
Good luck to all!

Omg really?! That's great!

In the meantime, I have 6 long papers due and 5 finals to distract me from thinking about the decision. at least, I hope it doesn't go the other way around.

My mom knows people in the housing office (btw much nicer in admissions) and they hadn't heard anything. Now if they had extended the deadline, wouldn't housing have to know?

Also I was thinking about it, maybe admissions was stupid and thought for some reason that inthesaac's mom was calling about ED applications. Students could have been answering the phone and gotten confused cuz I know they have student workers.

My dad is going to call tomorrow to get some answers, I'll let everyone know. Good luck!

Jojo's dad spoke to the head of transfer admissions though. I doubt she would disseminate false information.

that's what I was thinking as well, I was just putting rationale behind the other people at admissions telling us December 15th.

Yeah, I spoke to my mother this morning, who had just gotten off the phone with one of the associate directors of admissions that she knows. I guess they had gotten mixed up with what they said.
So, my mom's friend friend there said that their plan was to get things out in the mail at the beginning of next week at the latest. So I guess we'll know then.
Umm...yeah. Good luck to you all, because I definitely need it!

Yeah my mom talked to someone today and said we should know Friday or Monday (granted we do live in Evanston so it may take additional days for those out of state). Good luck to everyone. I can't imagine studying for finals while being stressed.

That's super excellent! I live around the area too, so I suppose I'll hear around the time that you do, sungashick.

This is just to reiterate that acceptance packets will be sent via FedEx like last year! The person I talked to told me this.

Hey, once you guys hear (through your connections) that decisions have been mailed out, let us know so we could start harassing the FedEx people ;)

I called Northwestern to try to find out my decision early, since the enrollment deadlines for my other schools are Dec. 3rd and 4th-- that's Monday and Tuesday of next week! (and I don't know if they're postmark deadlines). I couldn't find out though because the transfer head said "it's a bit complicated," but she did say that I should hear back on Monday! You guys should probably hear around the same time as well.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I called FedEx and they said there's a "package" for me from Northwestern!!!! Now, they wouldn't send a rejection via Fedex, would they?

Call 18004633339, say "more options" twice, say "representative" and the automated machine will transfer you to a representative. They will ask for your tracking #, but say you don't have it and that you want to find out if there's a package mailed to your address. They will ask for the sender information, and just say the NU Admissions Office (1801 Hinman Ave. Evanston, IL 60208).

Oh, and of course, it's a given that you need to give your address first before the sender info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!

I transferred to NU this fall. If anyone has questions, feel free to PM me.

omg me too. it's .5 of a pound, how big was yours???? I am freaking out. Did they send rejection letters FedEx too????

Thanks for the Fed Ex info!
I just called Fed Ex and was told that I will receive a Next Day AM delivery packet Monday morning guaranteed for 10:30 AM.
Would they send a rejection letter Fed Ex expedited for next day AM delivery?

Check the Parents' Forum for "Rejection sent via Fedex?" The consensus is no. I seriously doubt if they would send rejections in a standard Fedex envelope. That would cost too much. So congratulations to us! YAY!
