Northwestern Early Decision Release Date

My son makes fun of my CC addiction. I think I won't tell him about this thread and let him wait til the 15th to check! (Of course then I wouldn't know either).

i agree with aqua, it'll be up sometime around there or earlier on monday.

officially they say december 15th, but my sister got it december 13th last year, and her boyfriend who got in the same year but lives in chicago found out the 10th. just check from the 8th to the 15th and ull find out that week. good luck everyone! i know ill be checking incessantly

^I thought they posted all the decisions at the same time. Are you referring to the actual mail that comes afterwards?

yes i am.. im not sure why my sister didn't check online. all the 15th.

Oh, so MAIL comes first. I'm assuming that your statement of "all the 15th" is referring to the online decisions. That stinks... Now I'll be camping out next to my MAIL BOX, instead of constantly refreshing the page on my computer. Yay...

Clarification: they are MAILED first, around the 9th, i believe. "View your admission decision. (Available once decision letters have been mailed." (NU Admissions Page) that's why my sister's boyfriend got his the 10th-- he lives 15 minutes from northwestern. my sister didn't get it in the mail until the 13th because florida is a longer delivery time; you get it the week of the 9th-16th supposedly at any time depending on your location, but you can check online the 15th at 6pm if you haven't gotten it by mail by then. good luck!

Hmm, so that means I will be standing in front of my mailbox all of that week. I thought I would be saved that problem if I just refreshed a lot. I am so nervous though. It's the 3rd already, which means it could be coming at any time.
Yep, definetely going to be living in front of my mailbox next week.

I was under the impression that they'd be mailed the same day as the online decisions come on. Hahahaha. Guess not. CA is a ways from IL :( Booooo.

so do these letters just say if we're in or not? or would acceptance letters also list financial aid information (if the applicant applied for it) or is that later on?

they have your standard acceptance letter plus packages with a few financial aid options and housing options

Hahaha I heard some schools give out t-shirts/pens/stickers and whatnot. Does NU?

lmao idk about that.. no pens/shirts that i know of, but maybe stickers? i wouldnt get ur hopes up about that. lets focus on the acceptance letter for starters, hm? =]

they gav e out tshirts last yr

Hahaha nice. MIT gave a really cool tube + poster + confetti last year.

ED kids who got in actually didn't get the t-shirt, they just got a poster of the Rock. It was a pretty big point of complaint by those suckers :P

Well lets break it down and estimate. Say they make a decision around every 2 minutes, so thats 30 per hour. That comes out to 240 a day (8 hours), but lets round to 250 per day roughly. Assuming 1250 applied ED, it'll take them around 5 days to have all decisions. Sat and Sun they prepare the decisions and around Monday or Tuesday they mail them out.

Hahaha. The Rock =] I bet I'll get my mail on the 13th or sometime later even, since ED applications probably increased. So nervousss.

ME2..NERVOUS
NERVOUSSSSS.
VERY NERVOUS..indeed.
But if it rejects me....................................
I will just stay in London for the rest of my life. amen.

Well, I'm in IL, so that's a plus but the people who work in the mailroom, will put stuff in our mailboxes when they feel like it. So that's a minus.
Oh, and we're assuming that they work 8 straight hours? With no breaks? And make a decision every 2 min? That sounds a bit optimistic to me.
Besides, are they just starting looking at them now? What have they been doing since Nov? I think that they're only looking at financial packages now cause of the CSS profile. They probably know the certainties of who gets in now, they're just looking at how much to give them and debating about the maybe's. That's just my opinion though. Maybe they'll be here by Mon?
