Northwestern Financial Aid Award Notification

It is a tough choice among NW, Pitt premed, and other BS/MD program(s), Anyway, it is a happy difficult decisions…

we are still waiting

anyone else?

Still waiting here. Bracing for disappointment.

Still waiting as well

I’m still waiting as well I’m so nervous does this mean I won’t be offered as much aid

wondering same thing…

Same here

Just guessing here, but I don’t think it implies anything about the amount of aid you can expect. Most likely, the decisions are being uploaded from an admissions system to CAESAR in batch. Could be by zip code, last name, SSN#, or anything.

Holy cow, is everyone else still waiting for FA news from NU? :-S

I know the net price calculator isn’t exact, but if my net cost is 15,000 more than what was calculated is there any way to appeal or is it final? I was so excited about my acceptance, but I don’t think ill be able to afford it

@zaynuhhh, you can always call them and ask for an explanation as to the discrepancy. If the difference is that great, it’s not unreasonable to ask them why.

I finally got my FA today. My EFC is more than what my FAFSA calculated and more than what was calculated when I ran the NPC. However, the package is still VERY generous. I’m debating on whether I should call the FA office about this, try to appeal, or should I just deal with it.

Well, we got the news from NU today: $0 FA. (Technically, offered some loans.) D is disappointed, to say the least. It was a nice dream, while it lasted.

Yes, we are worried about same thing as still haven’t heard. Looks like we might be going with a more affordable option.

Finally heard today. They offered 55,000 in loans! We make around $150,000 combined so very disappointed. Son will not be attending NU.

@ThatPeprika if you haven’t yet, I would definitely appeal. It can do you no harm (I tried and was rejected with literally zero consequences, and I’m pretty sure that would be the case for people who appealed and got denied), and can bring you a lot of good. There’s very little reason not to try.
