my school offers 4 aps, but by the time I graduate, I will have taken all of them
jr year I only took one, but got a 3 on the exam.
should I report it to HPME, and would it be suspicious if I didn't?

the general consensus seems to be that ap scores can only help you, not hurt you. so if you have a score that you don't like, then dont report it. it wont hurt you at all...hell i dont even think the adcoms will notice...

when you have a good score, an adcom will just be like "hmm thats impressive." the adcoms wont go out of their way to check if youve taken an ap test for every ap class youve taken.

You can write in whichever AP scores you wish. However, if when you send in the final AP score report, the colleges will receive every single score.

If I remember correctly, however, the colleges don't receive your scores until after they make their decisions...

on a different note, northwestern university has made it quite clear (one of the many reasons that may have caused the split between northwestern memorial hospital and evanston northwestern hospital)that they have created a plan with the initiative of accomplishing certain goals that will allow themselves to be considered one of the top hospitals in the country sometime in the near future...

anyone have any input on how soon this will affect Feinberg admissions, and more specifically, HPME?

I think the split with ENH was not what Northwestern was going for. Rumor has it that ENH had a problem with Northwestern focusing a lot of its attention on Children's Memorial Hospital.

Anyway, rising in the rankings shouldn't affect HPME admissions too much in my opinion. The program is already designed to find the best candidates possible.

Well, we still have to see whether or not the split with ENH will reflect positively in the rankings. From what I've heard, the split will hurt Feinberg's primary care program. However, if the rankings improve, I would expect the quality of accepted students to go up as well.

so the HPME is a BS/MD program? I'm gonna be a junior this fall, and so i was wondering if im on the right track for this program...

What do people in the School of Communications in HPME do in their major? It says that they study "communication sciences and disorders". Does that mean the special senses? I never understood what a communications major was.

Also, how much emphasis is placed on SAT IIs? I'm looking into this program and so far my subject tests suck.

finally, a question made for me! i'm a 2nd year HPME CSD (communication science and disorders) major. CSD focuses on communication which explores the speech and hearing pathways. Our classes vary from neurobiology to introduction to special education to speech disorders etc etc.

I'd say that SAT IIs are relatively important. I'm guessing based on the scores I've heard from other people but generally most of us scored higher than 740+ on our SAT IIs. I DO know several people that have scored lower than that (in the 600s) on their SAT IIs and have gotten in, so don't worry too much as long as you can show you're a strong applicant elsewhere.
