Northwestern modules?

My D is narrowing her choices and we are researching Northwestern. It appears she would receive a general Theater degree. I see something about modules but don't really understand what those are?

She wants a stage mgmt major with a sound design minor, that's her goal. Does anyone currently go to Northwestern and could shed some light on their program?

Thanks!!

Northwestern offers a major in theatre with specific concentrations. Theatre majors at NU choose an area of specialization (often referred to as a track). Your daughter can major in theatre with a concentration in Stage Management and minor in Sound Design. The modules are separate areas of focus that students can choose to do. If your daughter has an interest in one of the modular areas of study, such as Theatre for Young Audiences, she could pursue that in addition to her major/concentration and minor.

Here is a link to the module descriptions and requirements for more information:

The program allows students to focus in diverse areas of interest. For example, my son is a senior at NU. He is majoring in theatre with a concentration in Acting, minoring in a social studies discipline, and completing the Theatre Management module.
