Replies would be much appreciated. Thank you.
You have ok stats to be considered for these schools. SATs good though keep in mind some schools like NU don’t superscore the SAT or ACT. You have really good ECs also. A 3.8 unweighted GPA is fairly good but I’m not sure what your weighted GPA is out of or how different types of classes are weighted. If you’ve taken lots of honors/AP classes than your good for most of these schools, but if you haven’t than you may not be very competitive. Essays are very important for these schools so make sure you put lots of effort into them (usually it makes or breaks your application). Lastly you may want to apply early decision/early action to your top choice if you really want to get. For example NU (which is the school I know the most about so I’m just using it as an example) has fairly good odds ED (33% admittance) but for RD admit rates were under 5% and in general the average ACT/GPA and overall standards were WAY higher with a lot of even 4.0/36 ACT ppl getting rejected.
Thank you. I took 1 honors class 9th grade, 1 AP and 2 Honors 10th, 3 APs and 1 Honors 11th. All Honors and AP courses are weighted the same and the 3.88 is out of 4.08.
How do I stand, applying ED to UPenn or Cornell?
Idk know as much about UPenn or Cornell as NU, so I definitely try to get a few more opinions, but it would at least raise your chances. I think Cornell it might help a decent amount. UPenn I honestly have no idea but ED always improves your chances. Google both schools RD vs ED admittance rates for this year or last year and your get a fairly good idea of how much ED would improve your odds. You have a good amount of honors courses so as it stands even for RD you have average-ish shot for all these schools (depending on essays, end of Junior grades, etc).
Others,
Please feel free to leave more input; it would be greatly appreciated!
Write good essays. I believe that the most important aspect of the application is the essay: its extremely easy to stand out by writing good essats.
