Northwestern Regular Decision Class of 2021 Discussion

At this point anything is just speculation, but there is a good chance for today (I wouldn’t say 100% however). According to past years and posters in the other thread, 4:45 Central/ 5:45 Eastern seems to be the most probable time.

I haven’t seen anything yet. Is there any confidence it will come out today? Wouldn’t there be a social media warning?

People started posting that they got results on the other NU chat, though there’s speculation that they created the accounts beforehand. For the rest of us, we’re waiting until we get an email.

Just called the admissions office. They say that they haven’t finalised the time but we shall receive an email shortly regarding decision. Today is the day

rejected from NJ

@bayramf you got an email from NU … is that what you meant by NJ?

@kibbles hey, would you mind posting or PMing me your letter?

"Dear [Kibbles]:

The admission committee has completed its evaluation of your application and at this time, we are unable to offer you a place in Northwestern University’s first-year class. However, we would like to offer you a space on our waitlist in the event that we make additional offers of admission after May 1.

This year, we received approximately 37,000 applications for an entering class of 1,925. Given the relatively small size of the incoming class and the strength of the application pool, we cannot admit all of the qualified applicants who apply to Northwestern.

Despite what may be disappointing news at this point in time, I hope you will consider our waitlist offer. If you would like to [. . . .] We hope to notify candidates on the waitlist of a final decision by June 30."

(There’s a little more, basically saying that sometimes they take no people off waitlist, sometimes they take 100 and that the waitlist people are not ranked but each considered individually as openings appear)

S was rejected. Hoping to see some good news soon! For the record - ACT 34, GPA UW 3.8, not ranked, strong EC but also no hooks. Congrats to those that got in!

Accepted! ACT 35, New SAT 1520, Old SAT 2220, Valedictorian, National Merit Finalist. No crazy achievements really. Majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Reply if you have any questions.

Was also rejected but got into UCLA today so that helps with offsetting

Accepted! 36 ACT, Val, NMF, majoring in BME.

ChoteBoi, how do you know you’re Valedictorian with an entire semester left to go after you applied? Suppose you bomb out you last semester or quarter and don’t make Valedictorian. What then? This question is generic for anyone who lists Valedictorian on their stats. I don’t get it.
