Northwestern transcript policy and freshman transfers

Northwestern just put up a notice on their applicant services page (after you log in) saying that transcripts you send in have to show 24 completed semester hours (or 36 completed quarter hours), not including AP etc. This explains why they haven't processed any of the three transcripts I've sent in this semester...

My school doesn't submit grades until May 17, at the end of the semester, so I won't have those completed hours until then, which is of course past the due date. Is anyone else applying as a freshman transfer, or did I badly misinterpret their transfer policy?

They have a phone number to call but it's closed today (and my phone here doesn't seem to want to dial it for some reason), and I was hoping somebody here had already dealt with this issue.

edit: They say on their application page that for Medill, they prefer applicants who only have one year of study, so I guess they must accept freshman transfers. Do they just expect you not to have transcripts sent in by May 1? Or do they expect people to skip a semester and apply for winter quarter?

oooo gee, that is why mine isn't either....that is so weird....but i sent in a mid-term semester grade thing, hoping that would help....

Should have applied to NU.

You still can, the deadline is May 1.

I called NU admissions and they said its ok to send the transcript after the deadline because they know that most schools do not release grades until the middle or late may. I asked if I could send a midterm report and they said it was unnecessary. The waiting begins.

wow....this means, that this school is basically crossed off my list, i am not waiting until June for a decision...no way jose

That doesn't make any sense though...they're not going to review my application untill the end of May (my last final is May 24th :( ) and I wont hear till the end of June? Unless I am rejected from all the other schools I've applied to, I will not consider NU...
